Principal Engineer - Nuclear (Mechanical)

Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for a Principal Engineer - Nuclear (Mechanical) with a background in nuclear or defence, to be engaged on a staff basis and located in Cumbria with a hybrid working model of 2 days on site. What you'll be doing: Liaison with build organisation and provision of engineering support to ensure the as built product reflects design intent Understand the key requirements and critical dimensions for major structural components Take the lead on design changes that affect major structural components, whether they originate from emergent issues, process improvement, etc Support or act as the engineering member of the test and authorisation groups (depending on experience) Develop knowledge of the unique build sequence and provide engineering support Participate as an engineering representative in the planning and execution of all major construction evolutions with the scope of the project Development & presentation of sound technical solutions to issues arising during construction Providing technical rationale and sound engineering recommendations to challenge existing requirements Your skills and experiences: Essential: Engineering degree level qualification - Mechanical or Structural as a discipline Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, including knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing Technical report writing skills & experience of justifying design change For more information on this role or to register your interest for future job updates, please visit Why We're Different: Westlakes Recruit are a people solutions business that understands the complexities of nuclear and the importance of our clients' mission critical objectives.
