Our challenge We are looking for a highly motivated Automation Tester to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Python, Selenium, Databricks, Data Lake, and PySpark to ensure high-quality automated testing for our data-driven applications. Additional Information The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Halifax, Nova Scotia is CAD $85k – CAD $95k/year & benefits (see below). The Role Responsibilities: Design, develop, and execute automated tests using Python and Selenium to ensure the functionality, performance, and reliability of our applications. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (development, data engineers, and product managers) to understand business requirements and translate them into robust test cases and automation scripts. Automate data pipelines and data validation processes, specifically with PySpark and Databricks , to ensure seamless data flows and data integrity across Data Lakes . Develop and maintain test scripts and frameworks for complex data-driven applications using automation tools and testing frameworks. Design and implement test strategies for end-to-end automation, ensuring comprehensive coverage across data processing pipelines and user interfaces. Execute performance and load testing for data-intensive applications, ensuring high availability and performance in distributed environments. Work with the development team to identify and fix bugs, ensuring quick turnaround times for critical issues. Provide detailed test reports and metrics to stakeholders, ensuring high-quality standards in the software development lifecycle. Continuously improve testing processes, methods, and tools. Requirements: You are: Qualifications Required - Automation Skills: Experience with Automated Testing (8 years) Ability to code and read a programming language. Python Experience in pytest, selenium(python) Must have developed test automation frameworks Experience in API automation, UI automation Experience in Github actions Description/Skill Set: Experience working with large datasets and complex data environments Experience with airflow, Databricks, Data lake, Pyspark Knowledge and working experience in Agile methodologies Experience in CI/CD/CT methodology Experience in Test methodologies (8 years) Familiarity with Azure/AWS (preferred) or any cloud service(acceptable) Familiarity testing and interacting with Data Stores (both relational and non-relational) SQL, MongoDB, Postgress Familiarity with Virtualization and Containerization tools and concepts Nice to have: Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar. Knowledge of Docker and containerized testing. Familiarity with Spark clusters and distributed computing environments. Experience with test management tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail).
