Piping Engineer

Job Summary : We are looking for an experienced Piping Engineer with more than 10 years of expertise in the oil, gas, and construction industries . The ideal candidate will have a solid background in designing, installing, and maintaining piping systems for large-scale energy and infrastructure projects. This position is based in Saudi Arabia , and the candidate should be prepared to take on complex and demanding projects in the region. Key Responsibilities : Lead and manage the design, layout, installation, and maintenance of piping systems for oil, gas, and construction projects. Develop detailed piping designs, specifications, and layout drawings for projects in compliance with international codes and standards (ASME, ANSI, API, etc.). Conduct stress analysis and material selection for piping systems to ensure durability, safety, and functionality under varying conditions. Oversee and review the preparation of isometric and general arrangement drawings, ensuring alignment with the project requirements. Coordinate with project managers, mechanical engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure the piping design and installation meet project specifications and deadlines. Conduct regular inspections and audits on-site to ensure compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with procurement teams to select appropriate materials and vendors, ensuring cost-effective and quality materials for the piping systems. Manage and supervise the installation, commissioning, and testing of piping systems, ensuring alignment with project schedules. Identify and resolve technical challenges related to piping installation, including troubleshooting and providing corrective actions for system performance issues. Ensure that all activities comply with local, regional, and international safety and environmental standards. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and support the development of less experienced staff. Participate in project meetings, review meetings, and ensure the timely delivery of project milestones in collaboration with other engineering disciplines. Assist in preparing and reviewing project documentation, including technical reports, calculations, and specifications. Maintain close communication with clients and contractors, ensuring proper coordination and addressing any concerns related to piping engineering. Monitor the quality of work, conduct performance evaluations, and report regularly on the progress of the project. Qualifications : Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. 10 years of experience in piping engineering, with a strong focus on the oil, gas, and construction industries . Extensive experience with piping design, installation, and commissioning for large-scale projects. In-depth knowledge of piping codes and standards (ASME, ANSI, API, etc.) and familiarity with local and international regulations. Strong understanding of stress analysis, material selection, and pipe support design. Proficiency in 3D piping design software (e.g., AutoCAD, PDMS, SmartPlant, or similar). Strong ability to troubleshoot complex piping systems and implement practical solutions. Excellent project management skills, with experience in coordinating teams and managing schedules. Proven ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams and collaborate effectively across various departments. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to prepare technical reports and communicate clearly with clients and team members. Experience working in Saudi Arabia or the Middle East is an advantage. Preferred Skills : Professional certifications (e.g., PMP , Chartered Engineer , etc.). Knowledge of local Saudi Arabian engineering regulations and construction practices. Fluency in English; Arabic language skills are an added advantage.
