Construction Spooling Engineer

Position Overview The Construction Spooling Engineer has the duty to coordinate the piping spooling activities for the assigned projects, in close collaboration with the Layout & Piping Function, Construction Site Team, Construction Subcontractor, Fabrication Subcontractor, and Spooling Service Subcontractor, if applicable. The position is meant to alternate medium periods in home office and abroad working directly at the site. Once relocated, the workload is organized in a rotation system. PRIMARY FUNCTIONS The main responsibilities of the Construction Spooling Engineer are: Set up the spool-plan based on construction priorities and monitor the latter’s respect, coordinating the spooling activities of all the actors involved; Interact with Construction Site Team to define the frequency that Layout & Piping shall follow to provide the IFC ISOs of complete lines; Verify that the Welding Map is properly loaded in the welding database (e.g., Milemate), ensuring the most appropriate ratio between field and shop welding; Review the spool drawings and verify their compliance with the criteria and the rules defined in the Project Spooling Specification, in coordination with Layout & Piping, particularly for critical lines, and then send back the revisions to the spooler entity; Send the spool drawings to the Fabrication Subcontractor and to the Construction Subcontractor for fabrication activities; Prepare and update the procedures and work instructions on Piping Spooling, also supporting the collection of lessons learned coming from Site. When relocated at site, the Construction Spooling Engineer operatively reports to the Construction Manager. PERSON SPECIFICATION Education Level: Technical diploma. A degree in engineering subject will be considered a preferential channel. Relevant Work Experience: At least 2-3 years of experience in the spooling field, both home office and abroad experience suits the ideal candidate. Good English speaker. Good communication skills, possess a high level of organizational ability. Develop troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to adapt to quick scenario changes.
