Job Description

Murray Recruitment are recruiting a Mechanical Estimator for our client based in Glasgow. This position will be responsible for preparing and managing tenders, budgets, and pricing documents across a variety of projects, including M&E Lifecycle, Sustainability Projects, Contract Variations, and New Tenders. This role requires a detail-oriented and commercially minded individual who can deliver high-quality pricing submissions on time, ensuring alignment with the organisation’s goals. Key Responsibilities Prepare and assess the requirements for tenders and budgets, ensuring accurate costings for M&E Lifecycle, Sustainability Projects, Contract Variations, and new tender opportunities. Conduct site surveys as required. Manage the tendering process from initial enquiry to final submission. Liaise professionally and effectively with clients and key stakeholders to meet deadlines. Develop tender strategies in collaboration with commercial, bid, and operational teams. Prepare and return high-quality tender submissions within agreed timelines. Establish competitive pricing by working with internal teams and supply chain partners. Develop and manage rates, pricing structures, and incentive schemes in line with commercial strategies. Produce commercial documentation for senior-level review and approval. Identify and mitigate risks related to contract terms, ensuring legal and financial obligations are met. Negotiate and agree terms and conditions with clients alongside the commercial team. Ensure compliance with contracting standards and profitability expectations. Collaborate with various internal departments, including Bid, Design, Commercial, Finance, and HR. Create detailed reports for senior management. Undertake additional tasks as required by the senior management team. Skills & Experience Proven experience in pricing, tendering, or estimating roles with a background in mechanical installations Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage complex projects. Skilled in interpreting technical and commercial information to produce accurate pricing documents. Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders. Proficiency in preparing high-quality reports and presentations. Ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines. Familiarity with Health & Safety regulations and their application within the workplace.
