If so, look no further, please apply below The Opportunity Due to increased expansion our client is looking to bring on an experienced mechanical engineer for a minimum of 12 months, to work hybrid out of their offices in Glasgow. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing detailed design activities across the nuclear defence framework. This role has been deemed inside IR35 Location: Glasgow Your duties and responsibilities will be As the Mechanical Engineer, you will review and accept project drawings and documentation. Manage detailed design activities in accordance with HMNB (Clyde) standards. Carry out technical assessment/approval of contractors work instruction/method statements/risk assessments. Provide technical guidance of construction/deconstruction activities to ensure compliance with design intent. Specify and provide technical supervision of commissioning and/or decommissioning. Liaise and consult with stakeholders throughout project life cycle to ensure efficient and effective project delivery. Comply with all Environment, Health, Safety, Security and Quality policies, procedures, work. instructions and risk assessments and support the continuous improvement of Health, Safety, Environment and Quality on Site. The post holder will be expected to support delivery within their range of skills, knowledge, experience and competence. Contribute to the effective development and delivery of training within own area of specialism.You will have the following qualifications & experience Experience of developing design assurance for complex projects. Experience of design engineering covering auxiliaries, marine and process system services. Experience in stakeholder engagement throughout the engineering lifecycle Experience in a defence sector.It’s great if you also have the following Experience of design delivery within defence projects. Experience in engineering lifecycle management. Experience working with safety teams.The setting for the role Risks and Hazards are in line with working on a nuclear licenced site. These can include, nuclear fuel, radiation, chemicals and gasses, high voltage equipment, moving vehicles, flammable materials, high pressure circuits, steam, high noise and vibration levels. A full site induction will be provided and all safety requirements must be adhered to when entering the site.
