Select how often (in days) to receive an alert: Modelling and Simulation Engineer Posting Date: 10 Jan 2025 City: Roma Location: Roma, IT, 131 Contract Type: Permanent Division: Aerospace & Defence Level of experience: Junior RINA is currently recruiting for a Modelling and Simulation Engineer to join its office in ROME within the Aerospace & Defence Division. Mission The role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining flight simulation systems and advanced flight control systems. Key Accountabilities Design and Development: - Develop and integrate advanced flight simulation systems for pilot training and system testing. - Design flight control systems, including autopilot and stability augmentation systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations. - Create detailed design documents, technical specifications, and system architectures. Testing and Validation: - Conduct rigorous testing and validation of flight simulators and control systems to ensure performance and reliability. - Utilize simulation software and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing methods to validate system functionality. - Analyze test data and provide detailed reports and recommendations for system improvements. Collaboration: - Work collaboratively with software engineers, hardware engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate flight systems and simulators with broader aerospace projects. - Participate in design reviews, technical meetings, and project planning sessions. - Provide technical support and guidance to team members and stakeholders. Maintenance and Upgrades: - Perform regular maintenance, troubleshooting, and updates on existing flight simulators and control systems. - Implement upgrades and enhancements to improve system performance and incorporate new technologies. - Ensure all systems comply with regulatory standards and industry best practices. Documentation and Training: - Develop comprehensive user manuals, technical documentation, and training materials for flight simulation systems. - Conduct training sessions for end-users, including pilots and maintenance personnel, on the operation and maintenance of flight systems. Education Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Qualifications - Proven experience in designing and developing flight control systems and simulators. - Hands-on experience with simulation software and HIL testing. - Strong understanding of aerodynamics, flight mechanics, and avionics systems. - Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, MATLAB/Simulink, and Python. - Familiarity with CAD software and tools such as SolidWorks or CATIA. - Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Flight Instructor, FAA certifications) are a plus.
