Role Summary The role of System Administrator at Conquip Engineering Group involves managing and maintaining our InspHire software system and ensuring robust and efficient SQL database performance. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for system configuration, troubleshooting, database optimisation, and user support to ensure the smooth operation of our business-critical systems. Key Roles and Responsibilities InspHire Administration: Configure, maintain, and upgrade the InspHire system to support business needs. Collaborate with stakeholders to customise modules, workflows, and reports within InspHire as required to facilitate business efficiency and growth. Ensure data integrity within InspHire by monitoring and resolving issues. Train users on InspHire functionality and provide technical support for day-to-day operations. Liaise with InspHire support for updates, patches, advanced troubleshooting, and best practise system use. Stay up to date with InspHire feature releases and developments. SQL Database Management: Work with Conquip's software vendors to optimise and maintain SQL databases, ensuring high performance and reliability. Monitor database health and resolve issues, such as slow queries or indexing problems. Develop and implement database backup and recovery plans. Write and execute complex SQL queries to extract, analyse and manipulate data for reporting and business needs. Ensure database security by implementing access controls and safeguarding sensitive information. System Integration and Support: Understand and maintain existing integration between InspHire and other systems, such as Salesforce and Sage50 Accounts. Integrate InspHire with other business systems and ensure seamless data flow where required to facilitate the direction of the business. Troubleshoot system issues and coordinate resolutions with relevant vendors and internal teams. Provide end-user support, addressing inquiries and resolving technical issues efficiently. Document system processes, configurations, and best practises for future reference. Qualifications & Skills Required: Proven experience in SQL database administration, including query optimisation and performance tuning. Hands-on system administration experience with ERP systems or similar software. Strong understanding of database security, backup, and recovery processes. Familiarity with system integration methods and API usage. Problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and manage priorities. Preferred: Experience with InspHire or similar rental and asset management systems. Experience in the rental, asset management, or logistics industries. Proficiency in reporting tools, such as Crystal Reports and Power BI. Knowledge of cloud-based database solutions or hybrid environments. Certification in database administration or system management (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server certification). Experience in new software implementation.
