Job Description

As a PDI Specialist , you will play a key role in ensuring the quality and condition of vehicles throughout the supply chain. You will collaborate with various Logistics Service Providers (LSPs) and compounds to implement, monitor, and report on pre-delivery inspections for new arrivals, stock vehicles, and outbound shipments. Your work will ensure a timely, complete, and high-quality vehicle flow from our headquarters/factory to dealers and end-consumers. You’ll be part of a dynamic team of logistics and planning professionals committed to delivering excellence and contributing to the company's green vision of sustainable and seamless deliveries. Responsibilities: Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Planning and Management of PDI : Overseeing pre-delivery inspections (PDI) for inbound vehicles, stored vehicles, and outbound shipments, including detailed checks for exterior and interior damage, component functionality, and accessory reviews. Damage Claims and Issue Resolution : Handling damage claims, software updates, language adjustments, and coordinating third-party inspections as necessary, ensuring timely claim resolutions with LSPs, dealers, and customers. Process Development & Continuous Improvement : Developing and enhancing internal processes to ensure robust quality control and consistent pre-delivery inspections across all designated ports and compounds in Europe. Reporting and Root Cause Analysis : Creating detailed reports on trends identified during the PDI process, conducting root cause analysis, and collaborating closely with quality, production, and engineering teams to resolve issues discovered during the inspections. Cost Control : Ensuring that the repair costs of damages are aligned with benchmark standards, while finding solutions that maximize the balance between cost, quality, and efficiency. Cross-Departmental Coordination : Collaborating with the Delivery, Quality, Sales, and Service teams to integrate specific requirements into the PDI process. Relationship Building : Cultivating strong relationships with Logistics Service Providers to ensure a clear understanding of expectations and priorities related to PDI. Compliance and Standards Management : Demonstrating an in-depth understanding of internal and external compliance standards for vehicles in the PDI process. Travel Requirements : Expect to travel approximately 50% of the time to oversee operations, support teams at different locations, and maintain quality assurance across all compounds and ports. What We’re Looking For: Experience : 2-4 years of experience in an automotive service or inspection role, preferably in a quality control, logistics, or PDI environment. Educational Background : A Bachelor’s degree or relevant technical certification is a plus, with a focus on automotive, logistics, or engineering fields. Languages : Excellent written and spoken skills in Italian and English . Knowledge of Chinese or other European languages is a significant advantage. Technical Skills : Proficiency in using light machinery , power tools , and Excel for data tracking and reporting. Soft Skills : Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to foster effective relationships across departments and with various service providers. Mindset : Innovative, proactive, and process-focused, with a strong interest in continuous improvement and the ability to adapt in dynamic environments. Driver’s License : A valid driver’s license is required for on-site inspections and travel between compounds and service locations.
