Applications Specialist

For our Display Graphics Customer Experience Centre in Bergamo, Italy, we are looking for two Applications Specialists to manage the demonstrations of our VUTEk digital printing machines and show customers the peak performance of our machines. By collecting all the details to create a successful demonstration, understanding the needs of the customer, and setting the best strategy, you will contribute to turning a demonstration into a signed deal. Serve as a product knowledge expert to support the Applications department with the production and fulfillment of print sample requests, from preflight to final shipping. Work with the sales team (both direct and channel partners) to demonstrate equipment overview, print modes, and workflow solutions. Support required tradeshow activities, including configuration, demonstration, special applications, and breakdown. Main Duties and Responsibilities: Fulfils Inkjet sample requests in accordance with job ticket instruction. Accommodates all demonstrations; resolves customer inquiries and special requests. Escalates all equipment-related issues (defects, mechanical problems, etc.) through proper channels and tracks resolution status. Serves as site ambassador to all internal/external stakeholders. Performs daily housekeeping duties as set forth by department standards. Job Requirements: BA/BS in Design/Graphic Arts or professional background in a similar area. Experience with traditional pre-flighting processes and software. Proficiency in PC and MAC environment. Fluent in English; any other European language (German or French) would be a plus. Detail-oriented with the ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, managing multiple projects. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to independently analyze alternative solutions and prioritize quickly within tight deadlines. Strong initiative and customer service focus. Ability and willingness to travel, both domestic and international for tradeshows or exhibitions. In-depth knowledge of common DTP applications, Adobe Suite, and Mac OS. Printing industry experience (analogue and/or digital) is a must. Windows XP, NT, and networking experience are required. Familiar with color management techniques. Ability to interface with people/sales is important. Demonstrated strong commitment to customer satisfaction. Experience in delivering training is an asset.
