Who You Are You are a qualified professional with a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in conducting fire risk assessments, particularly within residential housing. You hold recognisable qualifications such as the Nebosh Fire Safety Certificate and membership in third-party accreditation schemes. Your skills include high literacy, excellent verbal communication, and a thorough understanding of fire safety legislation and risk mitigation. You excel in working autonomously, have strong organizational skills, and possess a positive attitude towards continuous personal development. What the Job Involves As a Fire Risk Assessor for the London Borough of Hackney, you will deliver a comprehensive fire risk assessment service for residential properties. The role includes executing type 1, 3, and 4 fire risk assessments, managing contractor coordination, and ensuring compliance with fire safety standards. You will work closely with managers to facilitate risk assessments aligned with the Council’s Fire Safety Management System, support fire safety action plans, and conduct inspections. The position requires you to liaise with external agencies, provide fire safety advice, and contribute to policy development while promoting a culture of safety and compliance within the organization. Additionally, you will investigate fire incidents and prepare detailed reports to enhance fire safety practices.
