Job Description

We are looking for a Project Environmental Specialist Who will report to the Business Unit Environmental Manager, as a part of the HSE team, based in our HQ in Milan, Italy. What you will do: Define strategy for management of environmental aspects among the project lifecycle from proposal phase to project execution/completion. Prepare project environmental documentation, including waste management plan (Piano Gestione Rifiuti e Piano Gestione Terre e Rocce da Scavo), construction environmental management plan (Piano Ambientale di progetto, Piano Monitoraggi Ambientali), and spill management plan (Piano gestione emergenze Ambientali). Assist company functions and project teams in dealing with Clients on all environmental issues. Ensure that all HSE activities at project level are carried out in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, client requirements, international standards, ISO 14001, and company Environmental and Safety Standards, including suppliers/subcontractors. Support in the analysis of requirements identified in environmental impact assessments, permits, and licenses, and develop all environmental deliverables required at project level. Assist project team in Risk Management process for identifying environmental risks and maintaining an environmental aspect register (i.e. HAZID). Facilitate environmental accidents/incidents investigations, including near misses, and analyze accident/incident statistics to identify trends and lessons learned, suggesting improvement plans at project level. Conduct ISO 14001 environmental and legal audits both internal and external (tender and project phases) and relevant follow-up. Ensure, in accordance with headquarter guidelines, the development, planning, implementation, updating, review, and auditing of the Company HSE Management System and its application within the project. Promote strategies to innovate and improve environmental performances. Develop sustainability-related documents and activities to reduce project carbon footprint (both reduction and offsetting activities) and improve scope 1, 2, and 3 reporting. Review Environmental KPIs at project level, including subcontractors’ performance and their evaluation. Review, implement, and amend environmental-related requirements in contracts, including permitting. Manage vessel/fleet environmental needs and Marpol requirements, with a particular focus on oil consumption, waste, and chemical management. Key Requirements: ISO 14001 lead or internal auditor. 3 years’ experience in environmental management at site level. Available to travel (20-30% of working time). Good knowledge of the English language. Nice to have: knowledge of offshore regulation and sustainability management.
