Sub Agent

Job Title: Contract Sub Agent – Highways (Earthworks & Drainage) Location: Norwich, Norfolk Contract Type: Fixed-Term / Freelance We are seeking an experienced Sub Agent with experience with major earthworks and drainage schemes within the highways sector. Previous experience working on UK Highways England projects is an advantage. As a Contract Sub Agent, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a highways project, ensuring that work progresses on schedule, within budget, and to the required quality standards. You will manage subcontractors and direct labour, monitor project safety, and report progress to the Site Agent and Project Manager. Key Skills & Qualifications: Proven experience as a Sub Agent or in a similar role within the highways sector, with a strong focus on earthworks and drainage. Strong knowledge of relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation (e.g., CDM regulations). Experience with managing subcontractors Proficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings and technical specifications. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to problem-solve and make decisions under pressure. CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) Card. Relevant engineering qualifications (e.g., HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or equivalent) are desirable.
