AD Energy US Inc, are partnered with our Canadian client to find them a new RNG Project Manager to join their business on a permanent basis. Our client is one of the largest and most advanced operators and the only organics waste processor in North America that offers full-cycle services for the treatment and processing of organic waste. Their state of the art facilities convert municipal and commercial organic waste into a valuable community resources, including biogas and high-grade compost. Job Profile The Project Manager is accountable for the comprehensive coordination, execution, and completion of DBO (Design Build Operate) projects and other specific projects from inception to full operation. Their responsibilities include ensuring that all projects adhere to the schedule and comply with the contract schedule while also staying within the allocated budget. Additionally, the Project Manager will play a crucial supporting role during the tendering of new business projects and the acquisition of new facilities. Reporting Reports to the Director of Strategic Initiatives. Main Responsibilities DBO projects: Liaise with other departments to provide advice to the tender team about budgets, schedules and all relevant contractual issues. Oversee the execution of DBO projects, encompassing all civil, electrical and process-related works. Lead both the external project team (external engineer, civil contractor and all other contractors) and the project team Monitor and proactively find solutions to ensure compliance with budget, planning and/or quality requirements. Direct contract management, risk monitoring and redirects of the project as needed. Ensure proper documentation of all relevant project-related materials, such as drawings, calculations, permits, manuals etc. Work closely with the Operations Director and H&S Specialist to ensure a smooth transition from construction to operations. This includes coordinating documentation and training. Act as a key project contact for end-users or clients during project development and execution. Monthly client meetings and reporting as needed. Other major (intercompany) projects: Liaise with the Operations department to identify projects and priorities. Work with the Operations department to plan project execution within operating facilities Ensures all parties involved in projects within a facility (Projects, Service, and Operations) are informed on planning and key deliverables. Work collaboratively with the Health and Safety Specialist to ensure adherence to required health and safety standards by external contractors and employees. General: Adhere to the company’s project management standards by: Writing project plans. Delivering monthly progress reports for management purposes, including financial updates, schedule deviations and a brief risk assessment. Updating cash flow on a weekly basis. Attending/initiating site progress meetings with clients, civil contractors, and suppliers. Initiating kick-off meetings, internal project meetings, and design reviews. Writing project evaluations with lessons to be learned for the future within 4 weeks after the project is over. Manage all project documentation related to the design and construction of projects in assigned regions, including setting up projects, and ensuring contract agreements, budgets and safety forms are included. Coordinate building permits and related documentation for submission and maintain records of tender documents. Prepare and distribute construction contract documents; prepare and record site instructions, change orders, and project progress reports to ensure they are always kept current. Assists in the direction and implementation of the Health and Safety Program by working with the Health and Safety Specialist to maintain accurate and compliant lists of records for sites and contractors. Act as a liaison between the company and trades, clients, and/or consultants. Travel on behalf of the company to attend site meetings, project meetings, or other relevant meetings as necessary. Review and approve internal purchase orders Review and approve project-related invoices on a weekly basis Motivate project teams to achieve the predefined quality of the project within the set time and budget Act as the prime contact for external and internal stakeholders during the project. Organize, attend, and take minutes of project-related meetings. Demonstrate an unwavering commitment to the company values in all interactions and encourage the same from all team members. To carry out any other such reasonable job-related tasks that the Company may require. Skills and Qualifications Specific knowledge: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, electrical/ mechanical preferred. A construction-related degree would be an asset. Experience managing multi-million dollar construction projects is required. 5-7 years experience in project management, financial and contract management is required Minimum 5 years experience in process installations. Intermediate computer skills (i.e., MS Projects, Excel, Word). Understanding of various forms of Canadian construction contracts (CCDC) and a general understanding of construction law and legislation. Ability to read blueprints, process, install, and electrical drawings. Experience in setting up and maintenance of the project administration (costing, scheduling, quality, safety and loss control program). Experience in light and heavy civil projects would be an asset. IPD contract experience would be an asset. Project Management certification would be an asset. P. Eng would be an asset. Certifications: Valid Driver License required.
