Not funded by a EU programme Is the Job related to staff position within a Research Infrastructure? No Offer Description Precious metals such as gold, silver, palladium, platinum, and rhodium are widely used in the production of typical 'Made in Italy' products, such as finely decorated ceramics and glassware. The creation and production of these items generate processing waste that contains non-negligible amounts of precious metals, often in mixtures with one another. If separated, these metals can be reintroduced into the production cycle, offering significant benefits in terms of economic sustainability. Emphasis will be placed on environmentally sustainable recovery methods for these metals, particularly those that utilize solutions avoiding toxic chelating agents, i.e., those with an environmental impact, enable metal extraction at relatively low temperatures, employ aqueous or, at most, hydro-alcoholic media, and reduce the use of acids or bases, or facilitate their easy reuse.
