CDM Principal Designer

The Role We are seeking a CDM Principal Designer to join a multidisciplinary team working on a range of sectors but predominantly residential and healthcare. You will collaborate closely with clients, consultants, and internal teams, managing projects from feasibility through to contractor appointment. Key responsibilities include: Preparing detailed construction packs, including general arrangements, setting out, sections, and elevations. Reviewing potential sites for feasibility and design compatibility. Liaising with clients, consultants, and subcontractors to address site-specific issues, such as Building Regulations, M&E design, and fire strategy. Managing the production and submission of planning drawings and legal design documents. Problem-solving and troubleshooting design challenges with innovative solutions. Skills and Requirements To excel in this role, you will need: Advanced skills in AutoCAD and Revit (essential). Proficiency in Adobe InDesign. Comprehensive knowledge of UK Building Regulations and construction principles, particularly in the retail sector. Proven experience in producing detailed construction packs from feasibility to completion. Strong client-facing skills and the ability to meet strict targets and deadlines.
