Company Description Glen Clova Hotel and Luxury Lodges is a family-run establishment located at the foot of beautiful Glen Doll in the Cairngorms National Park, just 90 minutes north of Edinburgh. We offer warm hospitality, fresh and tasty food, and a range of accommodations including hotel rooms, steading rooms, luxury lodges, and elegant houses with private hot tubs. Our venue is dog-friendly and suitable for weddings, active holidays, and relaxing getaways. Position Summary This is a full-time Operations Manager role located on-site at Glen Clova Hotel and Luxury Lodges (postcode DD8 4QS). Accommodation can be provided for the ideal candidate. The Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the hotel and lodges, managing staff, ensuring guest satisfaction, and maintaining the smooth running of all facilities and services. Duties and Responsibilities Oversee the day to day operations of the hotel and lodges Do regular checks of the various areas of hotel and lodges to ensure they are presented well and are running efficiently Hold regular briefings and meetings with all head of departments. Ensure full compliance of Hotel operating controls, SOP’s, policies, procedures and service standards. Handling complaints and oversee the service recovery procedures. Ensure revenue and guest satisfaction targets are met and exceeded. Ensure all decisions are made in the best interest of the hotel and management. Deliver hotel budget goals and set other short and long term strategic goals for the property. Developing improvement actions, carry out cost savings. Closely monitor the hotel's business reports on a daily basis and take decisions accordingly. Ensure that monthly financial outlooks for Rooms, Food & Beverage, etc, are on target and accurate. Maximizing room yield and hotel revenue through innovative sales practices and yield management programs. Helping in the procurement of operating supplies and equipment and contracting with third-party suppliers for essential equipment and services. Act as a decision maker in hiring key staff. Coordination with HOD's for the execution of all activities and functions. Overseeing and managing all departments and working closely with department heads on a daily basis. Manage and develop the Hotel team to ensure career progression and development. Be accountable for responsibilities of department heads and take ownership of guest complaints. Provide effective leadership to hotel team members. Corporate client handling and take part in new client acquisition along with the sales team whenever required. Responsible for Occupational Health & Safety Act, fire regulations and other legal requirements. Desirable Experience and Qualifications Strong leadership and organisational skills Experience in hospitality management or related field Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Knowledge of hotel operations and industry standards Ability to multitask and prioritise tasks efficiently Problem-solving and decision-making skills Experience with budgeting and financial management Knowledge of health and safety regulations Clean driving licence and own transportation Rural/countryside interests Rezlynx or other hotel booking system knowledge
