Junior Category Manager

We have an exciting new hybrid opportunity based in the West Midlands for a Junior Category Manager to join a busy Retail team You will work closely with the Senior Category Manager to provide leading edge, commercial, sustainable, and profitable product offerings. Main responsibilities: • Contributing to the overall division strategy by participating in product, brand and sales reviews • Execute new and innovative plans to drive sales • Demonstrate commercial awareness through sourcing new products, brands and suppliers to ensure leading in industry developments and trends • Creating good, better and best range construction within profitable ranges • Making informed decisions whether being trend, market data or member feedback etc. Sharing insights within internal product teams • Providing high standards of customer service • Developing strong business relationships working collaboratively with the Senior Category Manager • Visit stores in line with the travel budget and in liaison with other divisions setting clear objectives • Build and manage supplier relationships and create joint business plans to ensure shared objectives and performance measures are agreed • Negotiate favourable terms such as rebates for members and offer promotional support • Attend and contribute to show meetings What we need from you: • Experience within the home category • Exceptional eye for detail and commercial products • Strong interpersonal skills • Creative thinker - ability to think outside of the box • Strong negotiation skills • Experience dealing with suppliers and building relationships This role is hybrid working 3 days in office, 2 days working from home.
