No Offer Description This research will look at the internal border zones of the Greek federal states. The aim is to question the underlying rationale behind contemporary processes of federalization often understood as processes of pacification ('federalism as a tool for conflict resolution'), challenge the often assumed link between federalisation and pacification in Greek antiquity, and reconstruct the complexity of the political culture underpinning the management of intrafederal borderlands in Greek antiquity.
