SEN Teaching Assistant

Excell Supply is seeking 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistants to support secondary age students with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) and SEN (Special Educational Needs) in Wolverhampton. Role Overview This fulfilling role involves working closely with a young person on a 1:1 basis, offering general support and mentoring. You will adopt a therapeutic approach, working in line with the therapeutic model to help the child overcome challenges, develop key skills, and thrive in their learning environment. Key Responsibilities: Providing 1:1 support tailored to the childs needs. Mentoring and building a trusting relationship with the student. Collaborating with colleagues to follow and implement therapeutic strategies. Supporting the child with SEMH/SEN in both academic and personal development. Promoting positive behavior and emotional well-being. Requirements: Experience: Proven experience working with children in either an SEN school or residential setting is essential. Personality: A bubbly, engaging personality with a compassionate and patient approach. Skills: A strong understanding of therapeutic practices and the ability to work in a nurturing, supportive manner. Qualifications: Teaching assistant/childcare related qualifications desirable but not essential. DBS: A Child Enhanced DBS or willingness to apply for one, essential. Why Join Excell Supply?
