Housing Officer

Job Title: Complex Housing Officer Location: Somerset Rate of Pay: £20 P/H (Umbrella) Hours Per Week: 37 hours Somerset Council are currently searching for an experienced Housing Officer to join their team on a contract basis. This role may include unsociable hours, and will require presence on site- with some flexibility to work from home. Main Duties: Assist with tenant inquiries, resolve complaints, and ensure satisfaction by addressing issues related to housing policies and procedures. Regularly inspect housing properties for maintenance needs, health and safety compliance, and coordinate repairs as necessary. Oversee lease agreements, renewals, and terminations, ensuring adherence to legal and organisational standards. Facilitate the allocation of housing to eligible applicants, ensuring fair and efficient processes in line with policies and priorities. The Candidate: Ability to manage multiple tasks, resolve conflicts, and handle challenging situations with a proactive and solution-oriented approach. Familiarity with tenancy laws, housing policies, and health and safety standards relevant to the role.
