Mechanical/Electrical Design Engineers (Building Services)

Company Our client are Building Services consulting engineers who specialise in the design, specification and costing of mechanical and electrical building services. They are a well-established business with considerable experience in the MoD sector. A large chunk of their project portfolio is made up of interesting, challenging and technical defence projects, however they will also get involved in some local council work. Due to hundreds of millions of pounds worth of project wins they are seeking multiple mechanical and electrical building services design engineers across various grades (grad-associate level) to join their business. This is an excellent opportunity to work on secure-long term jobs, in a relaxed, flexible environment not as 'corporate' feel than other organisations. They heavily invest in staff training and development and have nailed their culture rarely losing staff. Candidates must be able to obtain SC clearance. Role Maintain, enhance and apply both design and technical knowledge ensuring production of high-quality drawings. Design and specification of all mechanical or electrical building services systems. Preparation of electrical design calculations, drawings, specifications, and tender documents. Participate in the design progress and coordination meetings. Prepare specifications, schedules, drawings and any other contract documents developed through the RIBA work stages. Attend site inspection meetings. Liaise with clients, professional organizations, contractors, suppliers, sub-contractors and other designers. Quality assurance Qualifications / Experience Post graduate work experience within a similar consultancy or other relevant business Ideally have a full UK driving licence, to enable travel to sites as and when required, either as part of wider design team, or individually Experienced in the use of AutoCAD, Revit is ideal Experienced in the use of Microsoft Excel and Word Use knowledge of mechanical / electrical systems to carry out mechanical building services design Benefits Competitive salaries (based on level and experience) 32 Holidays including stats 5% Pension Discretionary Bonus Hybrid/Flexible/Remote options Early Finish Fridays Secure, interesting work Excellent training and development
