Key Job Responsibilities The successful candidate will be accountable for: Setting and maintaining the highest standard for safety and actively promoting a world-class safety culture. Driving performance improvements across a significant number of large scale Data Centres distributed across multiple AWS owned and co-location sites. Delivering 100% uptime on all customer supporting infrastructure. Strategic planning and execution of all corrective and preventative maintenance activities on mission-critical infrastructure. Managing strong technical teams and ensuring operational excellence and career development. Successful delivery of strategic projects on critical infrastructure. Managing vendor performance by setting high standards and conducting regular performance reviews. Risk management and planning corporate risk strategy. Critical event response readiness, including planning and incident management. Managing relationships within a complex organizational matrix and cross-functional teams. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or relevant Engineering discipline or demonstrable equivalent (lesser qualification equivalent work experience). 5 years’ experience in a high-volume mission-critical operational environment (e.g. data center, healthcare, high technology manufacturing). First-hand knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning and operational performance. Strong command of English. Full EU/IT driving license. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 10 years relevant industry experience. Demonstrated key electrical and mechanical competencies and theory. Knowledge of safe electrical practices according to guidelines set by relevant electrical safety supervisory bodies. Strong working knowledge of data center infrastructure, including UPS and mechanical-room infrastructure. Fundamental knowledge of network design and layout as well as low/high voltage cabling.
