Teacher of Sociology/Criminology Contract: Fixed Term, Part Time Salary: From £31,000 (Pro Rata) Location: Bedford We are seeking a dedicated Teacher of Sociology/Criminology to join our Sixth Form campus in Bedford. This part-time, fixed-term role involves helping students develop their skills and reach their maximum potential through effective delivery of courses. Day-to-day of the role: Deliver engaging and informative lessons in Sociology and Criminology to students aged 16-18. Prepare lesson plans and course materials that reflect the curriculum and the educational needs of the students. Assess and evaluate students’ progress and provide constructive feedback to encourage and motivate. Maintain accurate records of students’ attendance, grades, and overall performance. Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching methods and participate in departmental meetings. Stay updated with the latest educational trends and integrate new teaching strategies as appropriate. Required Skills & Qualifications: Degree in Sociology, Criminology, or a relevant subject. Recognised teaching qualification. English and Maths qualifications at Level C or above, or equivalent. Proven experience teaching in a Sixth Form or Higher Education environment with 16–18-year-olds. Strong organisational and communication skills.
