Job Description
Organisation/Company: Università degli Studi di Torino Research Field: Medical sciences Researcher Profile: Recognised Researcher (R2), Leading Researcher (R4), First Stage Researcher (R1), Established Researcher (R3) Country: Italy Application Deadline: 27 Jan 2025 - 13:00 (UTC) Type of Contract: To be defined Job Status: Not Applicable Is the job funded through the EU Research Framework Programme?: Not funded by a EU programme Is the Job related to staff position within a Research Infrastructure?: No Offer Description The aim of the CARDIATEAM project is the identification of OMIC biomarkers to assess the uniqueness of diabetic cardiomyopathy (DCM), its development, and progression. Biomarkers include expression profiles of plasma Extracellular vesicles (EVs)-derived small non-coding RNAs (sncRNAs); the DNA methylation levels in blood; and the expression levels of messenger RNA (mRNA) in blood. The present project's activity is based on the creation of a deeply phenotyped cohort of healthy and affected individuals to collect clinical and genetic data. This approach will allow to exploit a large and well-documented dataset to identify specific genetic and epigenetic correlations, to understand the molecular mechanisms underlying diabetic cardiomyopathy, in order to identify new biomarkers that could improve diagnosis, monitoring, and potentially the development of targeted therapies for this condition.
