Dangerous Youth, juvenile justice at the crossroads' promoted by the Department of Law - Department of Excellence programme. This is a transdisciplinary research involving researchers from Unito Law and Public Health departments, and two international partners, the University of California - Institute on Law, Neuroscience and Education and the Lausanne University Hospital, Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. The research aims to explore the care-and-control strategies of juvenile deviance with particular reference to the so-called phenomenon of medicalisation, understood as the recurrent involvement of health and mental health services to deal with addictions, cognitive disparities, and psychological distress. The research applies qualitative methods and techniques, including direct observation, semi-structured interviews, and focus groups.
