About the Role: As a Logistics Specialist , you will be responsible for managing freight logistics to ensure on-time delivery. Success in this role requires efficient load development, strong negotiation of freight rates, and exceptional communication skills. You will collaborate closely with freight vendors, shippers, growers, and internal teams to maintain operational excellence. Key Responsibilities: Build efficient freight loads with a focus on cost and logistics. Negotiate competitive freight rates and assign loads to carriers. Dispatch loads, verify accuracy, and input data into the ERP system. Schedule inbound and backhaul freight appointments. Maintain clear communication with carriers to ensure timely deliveries and resolve any issues promptly. Collaborate with internal departments, including Procurement, Receiving, and Dispatch teams. Manage freight lanes across various regions, including the Pacific Northwest, East Coast, Northeast, South, and local areas. Provide rotational weekend coverage as needed. What We’re Looking For: High attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Exceptional communication and relationship-building abilities. Ability to multitask and solve problems creatively and with urgency. Proficiency with technology, including spreadsheets, email, and ERP systems.
