Job Description
Facility Support Services provides Primary, Secondary and Nursery school meals. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated individual who is able to assist the Nutritionist in managing the processing and provision of Special/Medical Diets. Support in the nutritional analysis of school menus as well as non-school settings and to promote the uptake of school meals will also be part of the role. In this key role you will be responsible for assisting with the provision of special dietary requirements, managing the special diets mailbox and for the communication of these to the relevant stakeholders such as parents/carers, school staff and catering staff. Identifying allergens and ensuring communication to catering staff will also be essential. With an SVQ3, HNC or equivalent in a relevant subject and a food hygiene certificate you need to have significant knowledge/experience in a catering environment and a good understanding of a cashless system would be desirable. A knowledge of compliance with the Nutritional Requirements for Food and Drink in Schools (Scotland) Regulations 2020 would be an advantage To support this role, you will require – Proven ability to promote/sell changes or new ideas Able to demonstrate IT skills in excel Excellent interpersonal skills both verbal and written Able to work on own initiative and as part of a team A flexible approach to work This role is temporary for a period of 3 months.
