This innovative Glasgow-based company is developing next-generation authentication devices and youll play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and optimising the embedded systems that drive these groundbreaking products. Responsibilities: Collaborate with hardware engineers to develop firmware for custom PCB designs, ensuring seamless hardware-software integration. Lead firmware development from architecture design to testing and deployment, focusing onreal-time data processingandsensor integration. Optimise firmware forreliability, performance, and security, with a particular focus on image processing pipelines. Develop and maintain secureDevice Firmware Updatemechanisms for ongoing updates. Performhardware bring-upandsystem-level testing to resolve hardware/software interaction issues. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (CE, FCC, ISO) throughout the development process. Design firmware for scalability and future enhancements, enabling streamlined updates and modularity. Mentor junior developers and contribute to a collaborative, innovative team environment. Key Skills and Experience: 7 years of experience in embedded software development, with a strong focus on hardware-software co-design. Proven track record of shipping embedded products from prototype to mass production. Proficiency inC/C++andRustfor embedded systems. Experience withRTOS environmentsand low-power embedded system design. Hands-on expertise insensor integrationand real-time data acquisition. Knowledge ofDFU processes, secure boot, and firmware validation techniques. Experience withSTM32 microcontrollersand communication protocols likeI2C, SPI, UART. Skilled in hardware debugging using tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analysers, and JTAG. Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices for embedded systems.
