Senior Application Developer

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Application Developer to join our team. This role will be heavily focused on web development, and strong front and backend development experience is a must. The role will require the setting of best practices for our web application and keeping it modern by constantly adapting to new technologies, and training the team on these new technology implementations. This role can be based remotely either within IRELAND or the UK About the role Assist in oversight / definition of development specifications, technical requirements, system performance objectives and identify system modifications required to meet objectives. Research/analyse business requirements to evaluate and recommend optimal solutions within technology architecture. • Act as an expert resource providing insight and recommendations to develop and implement application architecture to support business requirements and application technical requirements. Facilitate the process of evaluating and selecting new tools to support application development functions. Act as a liaison between developers and vendors in this capacity. Comply with the system development life cycle (SDLC) and project management methodology. Conduct pre and post implementation reviews, ensuring all application software solutions have met architectural requirements. Establish best practices and procedures that work towards the continuous improvement of the architecture and development processes. Produce high quality software solutions within time and budget Work within a team and focus on continuous improvement and learning Provide support of existing applications to an agreed SLA Facilitate and support onsite deployments of major projects Some limited travel will be required to include Americas & Europe Your Key Skills: Knowledge of logistics with exposure to Sales/ Account Management and/or New Business Development Degree or third level qualification in IT or equivalent experience Multi-year experience of software development is required on enterprise class applications Working knowledge of Linux Operating System and commands Good business process analysis skills, strong service and business focus The ability to work under pressure and deliver to changing business demands Ability to code to standards and take direction as to general coding methods Successfully delivery of development projects in a commercial environment Experienced in JavaScript, CSS, HTML5, Bootstrap, jQuery and Rest API integration Ability to create new compelling and competent web designs JSON file manipulation skills and experience Compensation DP World offers exciting and challenging roles within a growing international organization.
