Job Description
Position: FAIR Engineer (First Article Inspection Reports) Location: Royston, Hertfordshire Salary: circa £37K plus benefits package - 37.5 hours per week Industry: Aerospace & Energy PRS Engineering have engaged with a new client and an FTSE listed International Aerospace Manufacturer. Opportunity based in Hertfordshire; we are seeking a FAIR Engineer (First Article Inspection Reports) on a permanent basis. This part of the business specialises in precision machined components, assemblies and emerging markets. What does the job involve? The position of FAIR Engineer requires an organised and methodical individual, ideally with experience in an Aerospace environment. The control and review of documentation in support of the Manufacturing Engineering Department are key requirements of the role. The ability to be able to communicate clearly within a group environment is essential, as is enthusiasm, cooperation and a positive outlook. An understanding of the processes and procedures involved in the day-to-day operation of an Engineering department is important, as is the ability to prioritise. Job Responsibilities The co-ordination and management of the FAIR (First Article Inspection Reports) process including: The compilation of FAIR’s The delegation of FAIR activity to Engineers within the department Approval authority for FAIR’s compiled by the Engineering team The management and administration of SATE’s change control process (Change Review Board), including: Assessment of change validity and feasibility Presentation of the change(s) to the CRB (Change Review Board) The allocation of relevant personnel to carry out the change Closure of the change once all required evidence has been documented Skills & Experience Required Essential Experience working in a manufacturing company, preferably within an Aerospace environment Self-motivated, organised with excellent time management skills Experience of FAIR compilation Strong communication skills (written and verbal) Excellent interpersonal skills Computer literate including MS Office Strong understanding Engineering drawings, including GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & tolerancing). Desirable Working knowledge of MRP systems, preferably Syspro Knowledge of aerospace procedures and technical documentation Experience of FAIR approval Understanding of Aerospace specifications and approvals An Engineering qualification such as BTEC Level III, HND, HNC, Degree
