Starting salary: PO6 £52,584 to £55,620 Work Location: Alexandra House, 10 Station Road, Wood Green, London, N22 7TR Hours per week: 36 hours, Full Time Contract type: Permanent Closing date: 2 February 2025 Join Our Innovative Digital and Change Team Haringey Council is seeking a passionate and skilled Senior Developer to join our Digital and Change Business Unit within the Culture, Strategy and Engagement Directorate. If you thrive in an agile, collaborative environment and have a strong background in software development and digital solutions, we want to hear from you About the Role As a Senior Developer, you will play a pivotal role in establishing development standards and ensuring the delivery of high-quality processes, code, and integrations aligned with service and customer objectives. Working closely with the Lead Developer, you will build, adapt, and maintain digital products, resolve technical challenges, and consistently seek avenues for enhancing efficiency and user experience through new tools and techniques. Your Key Responsibilities Will Include: Supporting and acting as a stand-in for the Lead Developer, motivating and developing the team to create and maintain a highly competent and engaged workforce. Developing council services and digital solutions, ensuring all development tasks are delivered at high quality, on time, and provide excellent customer experience. Working in an agile, collaborative environment to build, deploy, configure, and maintain systems, including software installations, updates, and core services. Collaborating with other developers to acquire new skills and learning on the software development process using a CRM forms platform. Supporting existing services to troubleshoot issues and provide fixes as required. Assisting in the system development lifecycle for a range of systems/solutions, with the ability to fault-find, fix, and enhance existing software solutions and provide ideas for improvements and optimization. Representing and championing the Digital Team and the excellent work and outcomes it is delivering. About You We are looking for individuals who are excellent communicators with a solid understanding of software development and agile delivery techniques. Ideal candidates will have: Experience collaborating with stakeholders to prioritize and clarify user stories. Expert knowledge and experience developing digital services and processes using a CRM system, ideally NETcall software. Proficiency in designing and implementing RESTful APIs with comprehensive API documentation. Solid experience using database structured query language (SQL). An understanding of how new technologies might solve technical and business problems (cloud computing services, serverless, scaling). The ability to quickly research, learn, and apply new development tools and techniques.
