Program Manager

Job Title: Programme Manager Contract (12 months) Rate: £650 - 800pd Inside IR35 Location: Greater Reading Programme Manager – Reading (onsite) – Inside IR35 Synapri are currently working with a leading Government organisation to hire a Programme Manager who will be comfortable outlining and planning all aspects of work related to a given programme of work such as budget, timelines and teams. They will have strong communication skills that enable them to effectively communicate with all relevant teams. This individual should be able to foresee any problems related to the completion of a project and act in a timely manner to mitigate any issues. 100% on site requirement, travel to London approx. once per week & occasional ad hoc travel Flexible working is possible but candidates should accept that work demand will most likely necessitate circa 80% plus office working (i.e. not WFH) Role: • the job is a programme leadership role on a GMMP programme (Government Major Projects Portfolio). • This is a programme categorised by government as being of national significance, large scale and highly complex. • It’s a large-scale infrastructure programme covering design, construction, commissioning of a complex facilities in the nuclear environment. • We would be looking for candidates with this type of background in large scale infrastructure delivery in complex environments. Top essential criteria: 1. Strong all-round knowledge across several Industry sectors 2. Well-rounded experience of project lifecycle preferred, but open to development or construction delivery phase Programme Managers. 3. Strong background across both change control and base line management Other essential criteria: • Well-rounded experience of project lifecycle preferred, but open to development or construction delivery phase Programme Managers. • Strong all-round knowledge across several Industry sectors • Strong background across both change control and base line management • Extensive stakeholder engagement at all levels • Strong self-starter • Open to a Senior Project Manager making a step-up to Programme Manager. • Open to a ‘rising star’ Programme Manager. • Robust individual who can handle the pressure of a highly regulated environment. • Flexibility on infrastructure/complex building/Oil & Gas/Process background. • Good communicator who can build relationships with exec and regulators. • Must have worked in a high-pressure environment • Holds a recognised formal Project Management qualification. Desirable • Client-side experience is highly desirable. Due to the nature of this position, DV Clearance will be required
