Job Description

To collaborate to the Lead Fast Reactor (LFR) design & manufacturing activities and experimental facilities, focusing-on fabrication design concepts & manufacturing aspects development for pressure-retaining and special/bespoke components with particular reference, but not limited to, operation in molten lead. Main responsabilities : Knowledge of design of pressure equipment and bespoke mechanical and structural components. Starting from the conceptual design, capacity to develop the basic and detail design (3D model and 2D drawings) of pressure equipment and bespoke mechanical and structural components in compliance with requirements and integrating with the best solutions from a constructive and manufacturing point of view. Be advisor for mechanical engineers for the integration of the manufacturing aspects in the basic design phase. Knowledge of technological processes relevant to the manufacture of pressure equipment and bespoke mechanical and structural components: welding (including cladding and overlay methods) non-destructive examinations, machining, heat treatment etc. Innovative processes knowledge is an advantage: additive manufacturing etc. Definition of the assembly sequences of the components and allocation of the timing for each manufacturing phase. Planning/Scheduling knowledge is an advantage. Contribute to the purchasing technical documentation for component supply. Technical evaluation and alignment of manufacturer bids for the supply of equipment. Be interface for engineering service suppliers, ensuring that the design requirements are transferred and being supportive in the implementation and verification of detail design. Support and verify manufacturing suppliers, ensuring that the organization and manufacturing processes are implemented in accordance with the defined quality standards. Supervise expediting. Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams. Coordinate assigned work with other technical personnel as directed. Participates in and fosters a work environment that is based upon openness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and satisfaction. Profile : Degree in Nuclear, Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering ; Fluent in english, french and italian is a plus; Good knowledge of SolidWorks for 3D/2D Modelling or other 3D tools. Experience of design, fabrication, and assembly of basic mechanical components. Knowledge of RCC-M / RCC-MRx or ASME nuclear design and construction codes. Experience of engineering and manufacturing aspects related to design, fabrication, and assembly of complex/large mechanical components (including welding, machining, heat treatment and non-destructive testing topics). Have carried out optimization or production improvement projects is an advantage. Experience in a nuclear or other highly regulated environment and good understanding of safety aspects would be a definite advantage. Not more than/At least 5 years’ experience (depending on seniority Junior/Senior) in an Engineering/Manufacturing Unit at any industrial mechanical design company or at any mechanical workshop in one or more of the following fields: mechanical components design and manufacturing; manufacturing and assembly of large mechanical components / equipment; design and/or manufacturing components/mechanism for industrial applications
