Job Title: National Water Hygiene Manager (Retail FM) Location: National Contract Type: Permanent Working Hours: 45 Hours Per Week Salary: Salary ranging between £50,000 - £55,000 (depending on experience) Car / Car Allowance of £8,000 Annual Bonus, 33 Days Holiday, Private Pension & Benefits - Including Private Health Care, Life Insurance, Employee Discounts An exciting opportunity has emerged for an experienced Water Hygiene Manager to join our company, working with one of our major UK retail clients. The role will see you responsible leading the Water Hygiene team in the delivery of water testing and hygiene services to the highest standard within the agreed service levels and ACOP L8 & HSG274. This role will also depend on your ability to manage your clients. Ensuring good working relationships are maintained and built upon. You will be the principal for any regulatory body and ensure ongoing membership. Key Responsibilities: Safety To ensure that all members of the Water Hygiene team always comply with all Health and Safety regulations and the company’s Health and Safety Policy People To attend meetings and training courses as and when necessary to ensure personal management and technical knowledge keeps pace with technical and business developments To actively promote the water training strategy and ethos throughout the company, organise technical training events and provide suitably qualified coaches and mentors as and where necessary, e.g. training in new techniques or using the latest equipment Excellence To oversee the development and enhancement of the water testing service making recommendations and presenting new solutions to senior management as necessary to deliver better standards of service. To actively promote “best practice” throughout the region, i.e. ensuring consistent effective and efficient techniques, processes and procedures are adopted throughout field operations The application of best practice and field operations skill development throughout the region Service To ensure that the ACOP L8 regulations are adhered and ensure a robust audit procedure. To ensure effective written and verbal communication of all critical corporate and operational Water Hygiene control issues within the company. To represent the company at site development, design and manufacturer meetings and to provide senior management and field operations with summaries/reports on key issues relating to Water Hygiene To prioritise maintenance and repair work to achieve agreed timescales and response times To advise the Divisional Operational Managers of any repair and maintenance issues that are likely to affect the smooth running of the store Achievement of PPM schedules within agreed timescales and SLA’s Integrity To have an awareness of stock loss and environmental problems and ability to resolve them quickly and cost effectively Financial Responsibility This role is responsible for Identifying and delivering business development opportunities within the budget to fund additional services to the customer. Managing all capital plans and projects jointly with the Customer and designated Manager, ensuring they are completed to specification and within budget to optimise value and service level People Responsibility This role is responsible for managing the water hygiene team and must fully support all aspects of people management for all, including but not limited to: Train, develop and appraise the water hygiene team to ensure they lead and motivate their own teams. This includes Training Needs Analysis and delivery of training solutions. Carry out reviews of the legal training to ensure compliance across the area. Specific responsibility for the recruitment and training delivery of Water Hygiene Technicians to include full validation of training. Audit all sites to a set process on a regular basis to ensure technicians meet the laid down standards of delivery Carry out HR and training audits to ensure water hygiene team’s compliance in training of colleagues to defined standards. Recruitment of water hygiene teams and manage the National Water Hygiene succession plan To apply the disciplinary procedure in accordance with D&G Policy Qualifications / Experience: Essential HSG 274 and ACoP L8 Legionella knowledge Understanding of HSG 274[RP2] A working knowledge of the maintenance service within the FM industry is essential, with previous working knowledge of a multi-client contracted environment being desirable; and PPM and compliance background Previous experience of effectively leading and managing a team is essential Previous experience of developing client relationships at a senior level would be advantageous High degree of mobility as national travel required Key Skills required: Strong PC literacy, with experience in extracting, collating and presenting performance data along with a good understanding of the CAFM systems.
