Senior Quantity Surveyor – St Albans Freelance (12-Month Contract) – £350-£400 p/d Fairmead is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a valued client, offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to oversee a £8 million new-build steel-frame project in St Albans. This long-term freelance role provides the chance to work with a forward-thinking main contractor known for their entrepreneurial spirit, team culture, and proven track record of delivering high-quality industrial projects. The Role: As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you’ll manage all commercial aspects of the project, working closely with the Project Manager and reporting directly to the Commercial Director. You will ensure that all financial and contractual elements are delivered to the highest standards while supporting the project team to achieve successful outcomes. Key Responsibilities: Taking full commercial ownership of the project from start to finish. Managing cost planning, valuations, and cost/value reconciliations. Procuring and overseeing subcontractor packages and final accounts. Handling variations and ensuring effective change management. Producing accurate financial forecasts and reports. Collaborating with the site team to align commercial and operational goals. Building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders, clients, and subcontractors. Why Join?
