Products previously considered industrial waste will acquire economic value by recovering biologically active molecules and allocating them to the nutraceutical industry. The recovery and characterization of bioactive molecules will be conducted with the development of innovative and sustainable analytical methods in agreement with the principles of Green Analytical Chemistry. Efforts will be directed towards reducing (and if possible, eliminating) organic solvents and other toxic reagents in the analytical procedure, miniaturizing and automating the analytical method, minimizing energy consumption, reducing waste, and reusing solvents and materials.
