No Offer Description The research focuses on analyzing the role of cultural heritage in driving local socio-economic development, with an emphasis on applying quantitative models and indicators to measure spillover effects in the local cross-border context. Given the environmental, social, and economic vulnerabilities that characterize many regions within the ITA-CRO program area, there is an urgent need to integrate sustainability into decision-making processes for planning and investment, especially in the tourism sector and the adaptive reuse of fortified cultural heritage. This research aims to enhance decision-support systems by introducing socio-economic indices that can guide policy and investment decisions. The indices developed through this research will aid public administrations and stakeholders in the tourism and cultural sectors, with specific applications tested within the FORTIC project.
