No Offer Description By considering the relevance of amyloid diseases, at both the cerebral (such as Alzheimer's disease) and systemic extracerebral (e.g. immunoglobulin or transthyretin amyloidosis) levels, the project aims to identify new photoisomerizable compounds that can inhibit the formation of amyloid aggregates and determine fibrils disaggregation through irradiation with adequate wavelengths. The present project aims to: Experimental determination of the physico-chemical properties profile (lipophilicity, aqueous solubility) and stability in chemical and biological media (serum, microsomal preparations, cellular lysates) for a number of new chemical entities provided by the project partners. In vitro evaluation of the antiaggregant properties on selected amyloidogenic proteins of the new chemical entities.
