Job Description
Organisation/Company: Università di Pavia Research Field: Physics Researcher Profile: Recognised Researcher (R2), Leading Researcher (R4), First Stage Researcher (R1), Established Researcher (R3) Country: Italy Application Deadline: 30 Jan 2025 - 23:59 (UTC) Type of Contract: To be defined Job Status: Not Applicable Is the job funded through the EU Research Framework Programme? Not funded by a EU programme Is the Job related to staff position within a Research Infrastructure? No Offer Description The aim of the project is to develop a SPECT prototype for real-time monitoring of the therapeutic dose delivered by the capture reactions on 10B in BNCT. The technology on which the research focuses is that of inorganic scintillators (LaBr3) coupled with SiPM. The research grant activities will concern: Implementation of Monte Carlo simulations and preliminary tests of the prototypes at the neutron facilities of the LENA reactor of the University of Pavia. Comparison through Monte Carlo simulations and experiments at LENA of the LaBr3SiPM technology vs the CdZnTe (CZT) solid state technology. Evaluation through Monte Carlo simulations in Geant4 of the possible advantages of a Compton Camera system compared to the SPECT approach, mainly using CZT technology. Support in the communication and dissemination activities of the PRIN PNRR 2022 PNRR project – F53D23008540001 – P2022MENMM_002. The public call with detailed attendance and selection rules (Art 4 and 6) can be found at: this link .
