Project Planner

Great opportunity for a Project Planner working on a major civil engineering project The position will be based near Portsmouth My client is seeking a planner with 5 Years experience in a Construction environment (preferably civil engineering) with understanding of NEC construction contracts and experience of using Microsoft Project. The Project Planner will be responsible for updating the main project programme Flexible hybrid working is available Responsibilities of the Project Planner Arrange weekly meetings to update the main project programme using Microsoft Project with project team members responsible for design construction, planning permission, and consents. Produce a high level project programme once a month. Finalise the written narrative to accompany the contractual issue of the revised programme for acceptance Once a month provide the programme to the Primavera P6 planner to convert into P6 format for the contractual issue of the revised programme for acceptance to the client. Produce Table of added and deleted programme tasks Produce Four week lookahead programme Produce Key date tracker table Produce Programme on a page Provide programme information to the project commercial team to assist with the production of the monthly commercial forecast. Produce programmes to support the commercial team with compensation event claims. Skills & Knowledge requirements of the Project Planner Good knowledge of techniques for planning, monitoring, and controlling programmes Understanding of the NEC construction contracts and a knowledge of how to develop a programme in line with the requirements High level of attention to detail Excellent communication You will need to be committed, reliable, flexible and possess a good team-working ethic Experience Requirements of the Project Planner 5 Years experience in a Construction environment (preferably civil engineering) Experience in use of Microsoft Project Experience of Primavera P6 desirable but not essential Experience of Earned Value Management desirable but not essential Experience of working on construction projects desirable but not essential Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and other Microsoft Office programmes Microsoft Project Qualifications Required for the Project Planner Construction related qualification and/or at least 3 years’ experience preferably on medium to large projects is desirable On offer is Excellent long term career opportunity Opportunity to work for a 1st class contractor on a major project Highly competitive salary package or contract day rate available Appy now
