Job Description

As a Class 1 Tramper driver, you will be responsible for executing bulk collections and deliveries between various DPD sites and customers nationwide. Your primary duty will be to operate modern fleet vehicles on an agreed shift pattern, delivering palette loads to HGV-friendly locations. Key responsibilities include: ● Conduct a minimum of four nights per week of overnight driving, utilising secure DPD locations for rest periods. ● Operate within a designated region surrounding your base depot, adhering to all relevant traffic laws and regulations. ● Maintain a high standard of professionalism in all interactions with customers and colleagues. ● Ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods, prioritising efficiency and safety at all times. ● Properly secure and manage cargo during transit to prevent damage or loss. ● Meticulously complete all required documentation, including delivery receipts and vehicle inspection reports. ● Regularly inspect and maintain your assigned vehicle, reporting any issues promptly to the appropriate personnel. ● Strictly adhere to all health and safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment. ● Effectively manage your driving hours in compliance with UK regulations and company policies. ● Continuously demonstrate DPDs core values of Passion, Respect, Honesty, Flexibility, Hard Work, and Accountability in all aspects of your work. This role demands a high level of responsibility, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence in logistics operations. Essential Qualifications: ● Valid UK Class 1 Driving Licence: Possession of a current and valid UK Class 1 Driving Licence is an absolute requirement for this position. This licence demonstrates the holders competence in operating large goods vehicles and is critical for legal compliance. ● Substantial Class 1 Experience: A minimum of 12 months of verifiable Class 1 driving experience is mandatory. This experience ensures that the candidate has a proven track record of safely and efficiently operating large goods vehicles in various conditions. ● Valid UK Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) Card: Candidates must hold a valid UK CPC Card, which certifies their professional competence and ongoing commitment to maintaining high standards in the logistics industry. ● Valid UK Digital Tachograph Card: A current UK Digital Tachograph Card is essential for this role.
