Housing Support Worker

BDS are currently working with a great organisation who are currently recruiting for Housing Support Workers based in Torquay. You will be working with veterans and others who have been homeless or facing homelessness. Providing a holistic and positive approach to solution focused support. As a Support Worker, you will be working closely with other agencies around specific needs including mental health, substance misuse, benefits, private letting agents and landlords and/or others and exploring options around education, training and employment. Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing assistance and support to individuals who have been homeless or are at risk of homelessness. About the successful candidate Experience of supporting a wide range of people from varying backgrounds with varying support needs. Experience of applying common sense to situations and the risks that you have to take. Experience of being accountable for the decisions you make and having the bigger picture. Experience of maintaining records and putting into place action plans. Safeguarding certifications. NVQ3 or equivalent in relevant field. (D) Knowledge and understanding of housing related support. (D) Hours per Week: 37 Working Pattern: Rota - over 7 days a week Expected Length of Contract: 3 - 6 months Payrate; £14.46 p/h or in circa £17.80 UMB Join us in making a difference in the lives of those we support
