Job Description
Job Title: CT Tech-Cat Scan-Days Profession: CT Technologist Specialty: Imaging Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year experience in Radiology preferred; Less than 1 year experience in CT preferred License: Required Minimum License(s): Radiologic Technology Certifications: ARRT Radiography, ARRT Computed Tomography, Basic Life Support (BLS) Must-Have: Excellent communication skills, ability to operate all work stations associated with the CT department, understanding of anatomy and pathology, ability to prioritize and multitask, competence in CT Description: The CT Technologist role requires flexibility with work hours to meet departmental needs and demands reliability, accountability, and cooperation. The technologist will deliver safe, age-appropriate care by conducting various diagnostic studies according to departmental procedures and ensuring proper patient identification in compliance with established protocols. They will be responsible for setting up imaging equipment, accurately performing technical procedures, and examining images to release patients. Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions: - Patient Care: Verify clinician orders, obtain clinical history, assess contraindications, communicate effectively with patients and families, and use appropriate procedures, equipment, and techniques based on patient age and condition. The technologist must respond to emergencies, stock crash carts, and observe patient conditions to prevent deterioration. - Equipment Management: Adjust technique for minimal radiation, report malfunctioning equipment, and maintain cleanliness and operational readiness of equipment. - Education and Communication: Explain exams to alleviate patient anxiety, address queries and concerns, orient new employees, and stay updated with mandatory education requirements. - Quality Control: Produce quality images, ensure operational integrity of equipment, promptly send studies to PACS, and adhere to quality audits. - Operations: Restock department supplies, assist with patient transportation, perform clerical tasks, and maintain continuous productivity. Ensure regulatory compliance and take on-call duties as necessary. Perform other duties as assigned and comply with established policies, standards, and code of conduct. The ideal candidate should exhibit the ability to work independently or within a team, engage in high-pressure environments, prioritize tasks effectively, and communicate professionally across various stakeholders.
