Job Description

A secondary school in Leeds is seeking a dedicated and keen Teacher of English to join their school on a long-term, part-time basis, starting ASAP. Position Details Location : Bradford Contract : Part-time role (Monday - Thursday) Pay Rate : £150 - £223 per day (UPS rates will be considered) Requirements QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent teaching qualification. Eligibility to work in the UK. Strong subject knowledge An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one). Skills Subject knowledge Adaptability and flexibility Communication and Interpersonal skills Organisational skills Critical thinking Literacy and Language skills Safeguarding knowledge. Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging English lessons that align with the curriculum. Support students in developing their reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills. Differentiate instruction to cater to the diverse needs of learners. Manage classroom behaviour effectively, promoting a positive learning atmosphere. Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback. Prepare students for GCSE examinations with tailored strategies and interventions. Contribute to the development of English department schemes of work. Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding student progress. Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and school events as required. Promote a love of English through extracurricular activities, such as book clubs or writing workshops.
