Merrifield Consultants are delighted to be partnering with Autistica, a fantastic research and campaigning based charity who are dedicated to tackling the significant inequalities autistic people face, while also supporting initiatives that enhance the lives of every autistic person and their families. We are working with the charity to help find a brilliant Challenge Events Manager, who will have the opportunity to manage a great Challenge Events portfolio that consists of iconic events and regional challenges to help grow the charity’s income, engage supporters, and expand their programme to include innovative new events that align with the charity’s mission Job Tit le: Challenge Events Manager Organisation : Autistica (Research and Campaigning Charity) Salary : £38,000 - £40,000 (pro-rata) Contract : Permanent, Part-time (16 hours) Locatio n: London (Hybrid) Responsible To : Head of Major Giving Closing Da te: 27th January 2025 Required : CV and Cover Letter Responsibilities: Lead the end-to-end delivery of the Challenge Events portfolio, ensuring every event is planned and executed to the highest standard. Oversee logistics, including securing places in major events, managing participant registrations, coordinating event-day activities, and providing post-event follow-up. Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety, risk management, and fundraising regulations for all events. Develop and implement a long-term strategy to grow the Challenge Events programme, diversifying the event portfolio to increase participation and income. Build strong relationships with challenge event participants, ensuring they feel motivated, valued, and inspired throughout their fundraising journey. Provide administrative support to the Head of Major Gifts to deliver major donor events. Skills/Experience Required: Proven experience managing large-scale challenge or mass participation events in the charity sector. Strong project management skills, with a track record of delivering events on time, within budget, and to a high standard. Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to build meaningful relationships with supporters and motivate them to achieve their goals. Creative and strategic thinker with the ambition to grow and diversify an events programme. Strong analytical skills, with experience using data to monitor performance, identify trends, and inform decision-making. Proactive, results-driven, and self-motivated, with a commitment to achieving income targets.
