Estimator, Specialist Landscaping Contractor Salary £50,000 to £60,000 Company Bonus Home Based, 1 Day pw in Chelmsford Office Permanent In this broad Estimating role, you will be pricing hard and soft landscaping projects including podium structures and specialist living roofs. You will be involved in all aspects of the Tender process, speaking to clients, resolving their problems, negotiating with suppliers and actively facilitating the tender award. It is primarily home based, only needing you to be in the office 1 day per week. The company offer a generous package that is supplemented with a company bonus that can pay from £5k to £10k. We would ideally like to recruit an Estimator with Landscaping experience and knowledge of estimating software, but we recognise the difficulty of finding this precise skill set. We will therefore consider applications from candidates from a Groundworks or relevant Construction Estimating background who have strong IT skills and a good knowledge of MS Excel. The Job: Reporting to the Senior Estimator, you will apply the companies estimating rules to create and submit Tenders for Hard and Soft Landscaping together with more complex Roof Podium structures and Rooftop Gardens. You will have ownership of your projects and responsibility for supporting them with the client, post tender to the point of award. You will accurately measure PDF drawings using Quickscale (training will be provided) to produce tender documents, consistent with the specifications for pricing purposes Price the planting, soft landscaping sundries and labour requirements using approved suppliers and the companies pricing formulas Where required, produce detailed soft and hard landscaping bills of quantities Price and check the accuracy of Bills of Quantity ready for submittal Identify areas of risk within tender specifications and bring these to the attention of the Operations Manager Attend Site visits and tender meetings with clients as required Maintain the tender register Chase clients for updates on bid submissions Make and build strong and professional working relationships with existing and new clients, suppliers and sub-contractors Continue to support your tenders after submission, contacting the client, reviewing details as necessary and achieving the Contract award. The Person: Ideally you will have some Estimating experience within the Landscaping sector but failing this you will have worked in a construction Estimating role and have a design or CAD background together with strong IT skills and a good knowledge of MS Excel. A good knowledge of MS Excel Good general IT skills including all MS Office products. Be organised with good time management and used to meeting deadlines. Good communication skills. Excellent attention to detail. Full driving licence
