The Role: As the Assistant Headteacher (English), you will play a pivotal role in leading and supporting the English department. Your responsibilities will include: Teaching: Delivering high-quality English lessons to students across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5. Leadership: Assisting the Headteacher in the strategic leadership and management of the school, with a focus on the English department. Curriculum Development: Collaborating with colleagues to develop and implement an engaging and challenging English curriculum. Student Support: Providing guidance and support to students, helping them to achieve their academic and personal goals. Staff Development: Mentoring and supporting English department staff, fostering a culture of continuous professional development. Parental Engagement: Building strong relationships with parents and carers to support student progress and well-being. About You: The ideal candidate would have: Qualifications: A degree in English or a related field, and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Experience: Proven experience in teaching English at the secondary level, with a track record of excellent student outcomes. Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate both staff and students. Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with all members of the school community.
