Interim Headteacher

Location: London Contract Type: Interim, Full-Time Start Date: Immediate Contract Duration: Until End of Academic Year Salary: Competitive and negotiable, based on experience We are seeking an experienced Interim Headteacher to lead a specialist SEMH/ASD school in the London area. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled and passionate individual to oversee the school, supporting the senior leadership team and driving curriculum development. Key Responsibilities: Provide strategic leadership and management of the school, maintaining a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for all students and staff. Oversee the curriculum development. Drive excellence in teaching and learning, ensuring that educational outcomes and progress for students are continually improved. Support and mentor the senior leadership team, ensuring strong and effective leadership across all areas of the school. Foster strong relationships with staff, students, parents, and external stakeholders, promoting a culture of collaboration and respect. Ensure compliance with Ofsted standards and all relevant educational policies and legislation. Essential Requirements: Extensive experience as a Headteacher in a special school setting , with a proven track record of leadership in SEMH/ASD schools. Deep expertise in teaching and learning and curriculum development , particularly within a special educational needs context. Strong understanding of safeguarding, behaviour management, and pastoral care specific to SEMH/ASD students. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire both staff and students. Ability to manage change effectively, with a hands-on, solution-focused approach.
