Workplace, Health and Safety (WHS) Senior Manager Sector: Health and Safety, Technology Role: Senior Manager Contract Type: Permanent Hours: Full Time DESCRIPTION Here at Amazon, we are currently looking for an experienced Health & Safety Manager to join the team and play a critical role in managing health and safety within the Amazon Fulfillment Center (FC). The successful candidate will identify, coordinate, and drive improvements in inbound safety, quality, and productivity, working with the Operations Management teams to continuously improve the functionality and level of service that the Fulfillment Center provides to our customers. Key job responsibilities Manage your team on-site, while regularly collaborating with other teams across the company. Use internal reporting tools to analyze data reports and root causes that provide leadership with the information they need to make safety-related decisions. Provide guidance and arrangements for health and safety projects and policies. Drive programs designed to improve the safety culture in Amazon. A day in the life This is an extremely varied role based at one of our sites, allowing you to directly contribute to many aspects of our safety culture. You will manage health and safety standards while improving functionality and efficiency. You'll also manage your team and help them implement changes in response to employee feedback or seize opportunities to continuously make process improvements. Your role is instrumental in keeping employees safe, managing their satisfaction, and supervising their well-being and productivity. About the team Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) plays a crucial role in keeping our people mentally and physically well at work. Our team works with managers, associates, and local governments across our sites, making sure we're complying with Amazon's policies and legal regulations, and that our workplaces are safe. There is a range of opportunities within the team, from Health and Safety Technicians to Programme Managers. No matter what your role is, you'll play a part in developing, implementing, and upholding our high safety and well-being standards. You could work on a variety of projects alongside colleagues from across the business, ranging from equipment and process inspections to assessing processes, building, and equipment design. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS A Bachelor degree or equivalent level of qualification in line with the European Qualifications Framework (EQF). RSPP certified. Relevant experience managing a team. Relevant experience complying with local Health and Safety legislation. Advanced proficiency in Italian & English languages (verbal and written). Experience in operating at all levels of the organization. Experience in driving significant change through an operation. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience with Lean, 5S, and Kaizen methodologies. Qualifications or experience in the field of sustainability. Relevant experience of communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, including your peers and leadership.
